La Marquise Tapestry Purse Handbag Evening

This vintage tapestry purse by La Marquise would perfect for those more dressy occasions.
The fabric is woven in shades of green and rose on a beige background. The scene on either side is of a couple relaxing in a garden with a folly in the distance, similar to those found in the gardens of many stately homes in Britain.

The edges of the bag are trimmed with a black vinyl cording. The clasp and hinges on the purse are in polished brass with scalloped edge in front with nail head trim and plain in the back.

A gold chain is attached to loops and a fancy clasp closes the bag.
The interior is lined in deep brown taffeta; there is a tiny pocket on one side with gold trim and the name La Marquise written there. The bag is a nice size measuring 7 ?” wide and 6 ?” high and 1 ?” thick.

The bag is in lovely previously owned condition; the interior is spotless despite the bits of lint that show up in the photo.
The fabric is clean and undamaged with crisp colours, no wear or fraying at the opening, or corners. The metal components are working very well and the purse snaps securely closed. You will find light surface scratches on the brass.
This is a lovely bag elegant but understated, wear with an evening gown or a dressy suit;dress up a plain outfit to go from the office to dinner.
It is a nice size to hold all the necessities without the bulk.

A little too fru fru but its just an idea i had to try out. I worked on a styrofoam block and took it from there, it was the roses that took the longest and trying to achieve the right shape.
The bow had me perplexed for ages since i tried many colours and styles but nothing was working so i thought a light colour might balance the look. the handle is made from gumpaste and i used gold leaf . That stuff is very tricky to use but it has a beautiful finish.
I used dragees for the center of the bow and then dusted it with edible glitter to give it extra shimmer.
Now that its totally dry its like porcelain and i would love to see someone take a bite of it !!! =)
